The world landscape is changing rapidly. The robots that we saw in the Hollywood movies (iRobot, Robocop) are now a reality in the manufacturing world. Will these machines take over the world ? Is India also seeing the advent of AI? After all, we too have our R1 and Robot ..

AI is slowly becoming a reality .. a big enabler to making decisions – small or big. Its simplifying life . The biggest uses of AI are where the machines are. And now, the machines are everywhere.

Everywhere ? Yes, pioneered by the penetration of smartphones, the machines are everywhere. My maid sends me WhatsApp messages. Tech solutions have become a part of everyday life. How come? Because of the explosion of data , spearheaded by the devices which allow each of us to become data entry operators. We fill up online forms and do online social media effortlessly. When the companies invested in infrastructure to capture data , they set up the critical ingredient that is required for Machine Learning and AI to work.

The one area which was always seen as ‘touch and feel’ was services. How could a machine help here? This sector has been aptly called IT Enabled Services (ITES). The number of activities that come under ITES has increased manifolds , and today, we have ITES companies with offerings for every service. The mobile app. world has exploded ..
